Joined RAAF 27 April 1941 -  3 Initial Training School   Sandgate Queensland

24 July 1941 -  2 Elementary Flying Training School   Archerfield  Queensland

22 September 1941 -  3 Service Flying Training School -  Amberley Queensland Received his Wings as Sergeant Pilot 8 January 1942

16 February  1942  -  I Air Observers School  Cootamundra  as a Staff Pilot

19 May 1942  NEAHQ (RAAF)

 He was at 13 Bombardment Squadron 3rd Bombardment Group USAAF Actually there are no RAAF records. USAAF records show he flew 16 Missions in 85..25 hours of flying in B25 Mitchell Bombers. They flew to Port Moresby and for two weeks they bombed Gasmata, Lae Salamua and other Japanese targets They then went back to Charters Towers for two weeks. . He was trained to pilot B25 solo. In missions he could not be a 1st pilot as USAAF regulations allow only USAAF pilots as a 1st pilots to pilot their planes He was always the 2nd pilot. and navigator.

On October 24 1942,  Flew solo for an hour in  B25 #920 under Lt Coney.  He did take offs and landings

On October 27 1942,  Flew solo for one hour  and  twenty five minutes in B25 #920 under Lt Conley and did  instrument flying ,take offs and landings

On October 28 1942,  Flew solo  for one hour and thirty minutes in B25 #969 under Lt. Dolan and did take offs and landings. He was classified to be a 1st pilot.  He was with the USAAF from 19 May 1942 to 25 January 1943. The USAAF  recommended him for promotion and a citation( medal ).

25 January  1943  -  8  Service Flying Training School  Bundaberg Queensland. 

Promoted to Flight Sergeant 1 April 1943

28 March 1944 - Central Flying School  Parkes New South Wales training for Flying Instructor

Promoted to Warrant Officer 1 April 1944

19 May 1944 at 4 Service Flying Training School  Geraldton Western Australia as an Instructor

Promoted to Pilot Officer 1 May 1944

26 August - 5 ITS  Completed Aviation Medicine ( Altitude ) Training Course 

Promoted  to Flying Officer 1 November 1944

18 December 1944 -  6 Service Flying Training School at Mallala South Australia as an Instructor

Promoted  to Flying Officer 1 November 1944

25 February 1946 at 5 Service  Flying Training School  Uranquinty New South Wales  (5 Service Flying Training Changed to 1 Flying Training School)

1 Mar 1946 at 1 Flying Training School

Married to Dorothy Knapp 19 March 1946

Promoted to Flight Lieutenant  1 May 1946


1 August 1946  Discharged from RAAF at Sandgate Queensland.
