On June 9, 1944, Lloyd Barnard graduated from Matthew Fontaine Maury High School in Norfolk, Virginia. This was 3 days after D-Day. June 6, 1944. Less than a month later, he received the document below. This document took him from Norfolk, Va. to Atsugi, Japan, with various training stops along the way. Lloyd served with the 3rd Bomb Group ( Headquarters,8th & 13th Squadrons ) from December 28, 1945 until he cleared the 4th Replacement Depot in Chofu, Japan on August 27, 1946. He arrived back in the United States on September 7, 1946 and discharged from Ft. Bragg on September 9, 1946.
